In 2017, my family and I traded our small bungalow on a busy street in Lexington for quiet country living and a historic home in Versailles, Kentucky. After years of challenging restoration, we are excited to invite others to enjoy Heartland of Versailles. We can't wait for you to connect to the past while celebrating the joy of the moment and hopes for the future.

Heartland Farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018 for both its architectural and landscape significance as it is one of few remaining woodland savannas in Woodford County. The Heartland Farmhouse was constructed circa 1886 for Dr. George and Fanny McLeod and consisted of 500 acres of farmland where hemp, corn and stock cattle were raised. It likely served as a summer home under several different ownerships.
In the past there were six different outbuildings including a Victorian shed, granary, smokehouse, tenant house, carriage house and corn crib. Today, the lovely brick arch is all that remains of the carriage house and all but one of the remaining structures in the backyard are no longer present. The corn crib was dismantled and reassembled in the field that now serves as the agricultural and parking areas. The newly reassembled corn crib is used for storage and catering services.
